RuneScape Creator Delays Launch of New MMO “Brighter Shores” by One Day

Andrew Gower, the creator of RuneScape, has delayed the Early Access release of his upcoming MMO Brighter Shores by one day. Originally set for November 5, the launch has been moved to November 6, 2024. Gower humorously cited the U.S. presidential election on November 5 as the reason, preferring to avoid the “noise” that day.

Brighter Shores has been highly anticipated since its announcement in March, marking Gower’s return to game development since his work on RuneScape. The game features a familiar art style and gameplay elements reminiscent of RuneScape, including tasks like cooking, mining, and woodcutting, which are expected to resonate with fans seeking nostalgia.

Gower’s legacy in the MMO space is cemented through RuneScape, one of the longest-running MMOs. While he hasn’t been involved with RuneScape since 2011, his latest project through Fen Research is generating excitement. Fans eagerly await Brighter Shores, hoping it will achieve the same impact as RuneScape.

With the release just weeks away, now could be a perfect time to revisit RuneScape as the gaming community waits to see if Brighter Shores can live up to expectations.
