Antonblast Release Delayed to December Due to Hurricanes

The highly anticipated indie platformer Antonblast, set for release on PC and Nintendo Switch, has been delayed from November 12 to December 3, 2024. The delay follows Hurricanes Helene and Milton, which struck the southeastern U.S., significantly impacting developer Summitsphere’s progress.

Summitsphere, based in a region affected by the hurricanes, announced the postponement as it recovers from the storms. Helene, the strongest hurricane ever recorded in Florida’s Big Bend, and Milton, which followed two weeks later with catastrophic flooding and tornadoes, caused widespread damage across multiple states.

Antonblast is a fast-paced, destruction-driven platformer with 2.5D graphics and hand-drawn animations. Players can control either Dynamite Anton or Annie, smashing through levels to recover stolen Spirits. Featuring 12 worlds, challenging bosses, and multiple game modes, including Hard and Boss Rush, Antonblast has been likened to Nintendo’s Wario Land series.

While the full game is delayed, players can try out the Antonblast: One Blast Demo on Steam, with a Switch demo also in development.

Fans eager for similar indie platformers can explore titles like Shovel Knight, Super Meat Boy, and Pizza Tower in the meantime.
