“Florida Joker” demands 1 to 2 million dollars from Rockstar to obtain GTA 6 likeness
Lawrence Sullivan, also known as the ‘Florida Jock”, has posted a second reply to his image used as a character in GTA VI in which he demanded compensation from Rockstar Games.
The week before, Rockstar has blown players with its first official announcement of GTA VI with an unveiled trailer that showcased amazing visual enhancements as well as introduced the main characters, and showed small glimpses into the game’s vast open world. In addition, Vice City is now confirmed to return in the near future, GTA VI is said to feature an entire world that players can explore.
In addition to looking stunning it also made a nod to a few iconic Florida comics that inspired characters of the game, their in-game activities as well as the general mood.
The news was well-received by players, with those living in Florida saying that the effort Rockstar did to take over their homes was “too realistic,” however, this is Rockstar Games that we’re talking about, and was there any doubt?
However, there were some who weren’t pleased by the trailer. This includes Lawrence “Florida Joker” Sullivan who’s resemblance to the character can be seen in one scene in the trailer.
This scene refers to the famous mugshot he took taken during one of his arrests and quickly turned into popular due to his look resembling the DC comics character.
After his initial reply in which he stated “GTA, we gotta talk,” He’s now followed-up with a different one, only this time, he’s asking for cash in cold, hard currency to ensure his appearance remains on the field.
In the most recent TikTok post, he states: “We got to speak, GTA. We gotta talk. You can’t refuse, but you’ll have to pay me an ounce or two … Florida Joker doesn’t want the money. You took my image and my life.”
Rockstar Games hasn’t responded to the demands of Sullivan, and probably won’t ever do so given they’ve got many more fish to eat.
GTA VI is scheduled to release in 2025, for the Xbox Series X/S as well as PS5 to be then the PC release later in the year.
