It’s always satisfying when one of our favourite games is given a bit of affection and attention from the developers. Perhaps through the years, not any games have been so popularly supported as the Techland’s Dying Light.

The game was first released in the year 2015 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One before arriving on Nintendo Switch in 2021, Techland supports Dying Light and not just the The Next expansion, but also numerous DLC as well as content updates a few several years after the game was first made available. It’s also arguably received the most recent update just eight years after the game’s launch.

This week Techland has announced that the initial Dying Light (not 2022’s Dying Light 2 Stay Human) will receive the chance to be remastered for free via the latest patch available to PlayStation 5 and it’s out now. The new patch isn’t to be misinterpreted as a improvement patch which was made available in 2022 that gave the game an increase in 60fps.

The most recent update includes all the bells and whistles one would expect in a newer game, but this one is not nearly decade old. This upgrade is free and offers players the option among Performance Mode (60fps in 1080p) and Balanced Mode (a goal of 60fps at 1440p at 1440p) and, finally Graphics Mode (30fps in 4K).

Furthermore, gamers on the PlayStation 4 Pro has had some appreciation as the no-cost update comes with a more stable 30fps limit and an improved internet-connected network feature which makes use of EOS and will allow the game more stable and provide a better game experience while playing with your friends. If Xbox gamers are worried about this, don’t be, as Techland has announced that the update for free is coming to Xbox Series X|S on a future date.

It’s about the right time to dive again into Dying Light and complete The Next expansion for PS5. Dying Light is available now for PC, PlayStation, Xbox as well as Nintendo Switch.
