LEGO PS2 Set Could Become Reality After Fan Submission Gains Support

A LEGO set inspired by the PlayStation 2 could be officially produced after gaining significant support on LEGO Ideas. The fan-designed build, created by user RippleDrive, allows fans to construct a LEGO version of the iconic PS2 console, including controllers, memory cards, and internal components.

Originally released in 2000, the PS2 became the best-selling gaming console of all time, with over 160 million units sold. The console’s legacy lives on, with many considering it one of the greatest gaming systems ever made.

The proposed LEGO set features over 2,000 pieces and is nearly at a 1:1 scale with the original PS2. Though still awaiting official approval from Sony, the project has captured the attention of PlayStation and LEGO fans alike. RippleDrive, who created the design, said the PS2 is their “favorite video game console of all time.”

The LEGO Ideas platform has seen success with other video game-related sets, and fans are hopeful this one will make it to store shelves in the future.
