New Horror Game “Dream Cage” Explores Sleep Paralysis
A new indie horror game, Dream Cage, is set to take players on a chilling journey into the world of sleep paralysis. Scheduled for release in early 2025, the game puts players in the shoes of a man struggling with the terrifying condition, where he must fend off supernatural entities haunting him during episodes of paralysis.
Dream Cage draws inspiration from real-life experiences of sleep paralysis, with input from those who have encountered it. The game features over 25 supernatural beings and offers clues to the protagonist’s mysterious condition. It also features a structure similar to Five Nights at Freddy’s, with players encountering different beings each day, all while exploring the protagonist’s apartment, reminiscent of Silent Hill 4: The Room.
One unique feature is the game’s use of the player’s microphone. During encounters with the supernatural, players must remain silent to avoid detection, adding an extra layer of tension. This mechanic is similar to games like Alien Isolation and the A Quiet Place spinoff.
Dream Cage is available to wishlist on Steam, but a specific release date is yet to be announced. Fans of atmospheric horror games can look forward to this fresh take on the genre in early 2025.
