Stardew Valley Developer Hints at Updates as Late as 2075
Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone (aka ConcernedApe) has suggested that the beloved farming simulator could receive updates as far as 50 years into the future. In a recent interview, Barone mentioned that he doesn’t see the door closing on updates for the game, even as far as 2075. This statement shows his continued dedication to the game, which has remained a fan favorite since its 2016 release.
Despite focusing on his new project, Haunted Chocolatier, Barone confirmed that Stardew Valley will not be forgotten. The game has seen numerous updates, including the major 1.6 update, and Barone expressed a desire to keep improving it. He also joked about potentially releasing an update when he’s 90 years old, reflecting his ongoing commitment to the game.
While Barone continues to work on Haunted Chocolatier, he reassured fans that Stardew Valley won’t be overwhelmed with excessive content or become bloated. However, updates could continue as long as the game’s charm remains intact. Fans will likely remain eager for any future updates, even if they come decades down the line.
