Yooka-Replaylee Teased for Nintendo Switch 2 in New Trailer
Playtonic Games may have subtly confirmed that its remaster, Yooka-Replaylee, is coming to Nintendo’s anticipated Switch 2 console. The reveal was spotted in the game’s latest trailer, where the platform lineup includes PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo’s logo—though notably not the Switch itself. This omission is fueling speculation that Yooka-Replaylee will be targeting the Switch 2 instead.
This is the latest in a growing list of games set to debut on the next Nintendo console. Previously, developers like Pathea and the team behind Bestiario confirmed that their games, My Time at Evershine and Bestiario, respectively, would be available on the Switch 2 as part of their Kickstarter campaigns.
Nintendo has yet to officially announce the Switch 2, though recent rumors hinted at an October 2024 reveal. With the month nearing its end, many now expect that any announcement could be delayed. Nintendo executives are likely to face questions on the topic during an upcoming investor call on November 5, but whether any substantial details will be disclosed remains uncertain.
The Switch 2 isn’t expected to launch before Q2 2025, though it is anticipated to be backward compatible, potentially expanding its launch library with existing Switch titles.
